January 30, 2007 - I am surprised at the amount of responses I've had to this web page - I didn't realize
there were so many "non-Halfmoon" folks out there that kept tabs on the Halfmoon dogs.
Whomever took it upon themselves to forward this page around the Aussie community -
I suppose I should thank you.  Awareness is the first step in prevention.
I hope that this never has to happen to anyone else again.
This is a horrible thing to have to go through and I wouldn't wish this "unknowning" unto anyone.
Surprisingly as well, *J* suddenly remembered my phone number and left me a voice message
that we "have something to talk about".  She also sent me an email telling me that if I didn't take down the page
that legal action will be taken.  I replied that if she can tell me what part is not true I would
be more than happy to remove it.  I have received no response.

So again, whomever circulated the page thank you.
I've been told that the message/discussion that was circulating along with the web page link
"don't do business with Gwen - look see how she treats the stud dog owners".
Thank you.  Sincerely.
I will never again breed one of my dogs to someone who feels as calloused about puppies as *J* & *L* do.
When we breed a litter and subsequently place those puppies it is with the full and complete understanding
that we, the breeders, will be kept informed of their growth, health, progress and where-abouts.
It is also with the full and complete understanding that WE as the breeders have the right to chose where we want to place our
puppies and under what conditions they will live.  We also make it completely clear that at ANY
time those puppies will no longer be with the folks that we initially placed them with that they COME BACK HERE.
Since we brought them into this world it is OUR decision where they will end up.
BOTH *L* & *J* agreed, although verbally, to this condition.

For those curious, yes, this is partially MY fault.  There was no contract.  I was told by *J* upfront, before
any breedings took place, that because I was "invited to the party" that she didn't feel there needed to be
any type of contract.  We learned that we need to have a contract in all situations to show what
was agreed to by both parties.  We will also never do business
on a supposed "FAVOR" because "we like you".  You get what you pay for.

How much do you think a stud fee is worth?
I have yet to come across ANYONE who thinks that pick #2 & pick #3 -
that is TWO VERY nice puppies is anywhere near the cost of a legitimate stud fee.
One puppy was the stud fee - the one given to the original party to the contract - *J*.
The other puppy was a gesture of sympathy and even more so, a symbol of our generousity.
I don't know of anyone, yet, that would pay TWO stud fees for a single litter.
Don't allow yourself to be dupped by "senior breeders".  Don't do things because you are made to feel badly for someone else.
Breed for yourself, keep what you want, and then place the others.

If you are looking to maliciously circulate information regarding this situation, again, thank you.
If it saves one person from making the mistakes that I have made, then it is by far worth your efforts.
